Last Updated: 15 Aug 2026

Welcome to Melbourne Cab Service. These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of our taxi booking and passenger transport services in Melbourne.

By making a booking or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to comply with them.

1. Bookings

  • All taxi bookings are subject to vehicle and driver availability.
  • Customers are responsible for providing accurate booking information, including the pick-up location, destination, date, time and contact details.
  • A booking is considered confirmed once confirmation has been provided through our official booking channel.
  • We may contact customers using the details provided during the booking process if clarification or additional information is required.
  • Customers should ensure they are available at the nominated pick-up location at the scheduled time.

2. Booking Changes

Customers may request changes to their booking by contacting Melbourne Cab Service through our official booking channels.

Changes to the pick-up location, destination, travel time, vehicle requirements or other booking details are subject to availability and may affect the applicable fare.

We recommend requesting changes as early as possible to help us accommodate your requirements.

3. Cancellation

Our Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to cancellations made by customers.

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled ride are generally eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made within 24 hours may be subject to a nominal cancellation fee depending on the service type. Late cancellations and no-shows may not be eligible for a refund.

For complete information, please refer to our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

4. Fares & Payments

Taxi fares are calculated according to the applicable fare structure and may depend on factors including distance, travel time, waiting time, service type and other applicable charges.

Payment may be made through the payment methods made available by Melbourne Cab Service, which may include:

  • Cash
  • Credit or debit card
  • Online payment methods
  • Other available payment options

Where an estimated fare is provided before a journey, it is intended as a guide unless specifically confirmed as a fixed fare.

The final fare may vary depending on the actual journey and applicable charges.

5. Pick-Up & Waiting

Passengers should be ready at the agreed pick-up location at the scheduled time.

Pick-up and waiting times may be affected by traffic, road conditions, airport procedures, building access, events and other circumstances.

Where a passenger is unavailable at the pick-up location, the booking may be treated as a no-show in accordance with our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

6. Travel Times & Delays

Melbourne Cab Service aims to provide reliable and timely transportation. However, journey and arrival times are estimates and cannot always be guaranteed.

Traffic congestion, roadworks, accidents, weather conditions, road closures, public events, airport conditions and other circumstances may cause delays.

Customers travelling to airports, appointments or other time-sensitive destinations should allow sufficient additional travel time.

7. Passenger Responsibilities

Passengers are expected to:

  • Follow reasonable safety instructions provided by the driver.
  • Remain seated and use available seat belts where required.
  • Treat drivers and other passengers respectfully.
  • Avoid behaviour that could create a safety risk.
  • Provide accurate information when making a booking.
  • Take reasonable care of their personal belongings.

Passengers must comply with applicable laws and reasonable safety requirements while using our services.

8. Prohibited Behaviour

Melbourne Cab Service may refuse or discontinue a journey where reasonably necessary due to safety, legal or operational concerns.

  • Illegal activities within or in connection with our services.
  • Smoking or other prohibited activities where not permitted by law or applicable vehicle requirements.

Where damage is caused deliberately or through unreasonable behaviour, the customer may be responsible for costs to the extent permitted by law.

9. Children & Passenger Safety

Parents, guardians and accompanying adults are responsible for ensuring that children travelling with them are appropriately supervised and comply with applicable Australian passenger safety requirements.

Where a specific child restraint or other special requirement is needed, customers should advise us when making their booking so that availability can be considered.

Specific vehicle types or accessibility features are subject to availability.

Passengers are responsible for their personal belongings while travelling.

If you leave an item in a Melbourne Cab Service vehicle, please contact us as soon as possible with details of your journey and the missing item.

We will make reasonable efforts to assist in locating and returning lost property where possible. However, recovery of lost items cannot be guaranteed.

12. Service Availability

We aim to provide taxi services throughout our advertised Melbourne service areas. However, availability may vary according to location, time, demand, vehicle availability and operational circumstances.

We reserve the right to decline a booking where we are unable to reasonably provide the requested service.

13. Airport Transfers

For airport transfers, customers are responsible for providing accurate flight and passenger information where required.

Customers should allow sufficient time for airport check-in, security, baggage collection, traffic and other airport-related requirements.

Flight delays or changes should be communicated to Melbourne Cab Service as soon as possible so that we can determine whether the booking can be adjusted, subject to availability.
